Defining “scalability”

The definition of scalability is in itself tricky.
If one get increase in sensitivity when the sensor is scaled down, then by definition it is “scalable”. However the same device would be consider “un-scalable” when it is scaled up. Such may be confusing. A solution can be adding extra info such as down-scalable, or up-scalable.
